Crispy Kale Chips

Ingredients

  • 1 medium-sized bunch of kale (washed and dried) *Leaves must be completely dry.

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • two pinches of sea salt

  • a pinch or two of garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Rip the kale leaves off the stems and away from the veins into chip-sized pieces and place in a large bowl.

  • Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the kale. Using your hands, gently massage the oil into the kale leaves, making sure the oil coats the entire surface. You can add a bit more oil to make sure the leaves are fully coated, but keep in mind that too much oil will lead to soggy leaves.

  • Once you've finished massaging the kale, sprinkle the sea salt and garlic powder over the kale and toss. Arrange the pieces of kale on an unlined baking sheet and place the sheet in your preheated oven.

  • Bake for 10 minutes. Rotate the pan, flipping any pieces that are starting to look crispy and bake for another 5 minutes, watching the pan closely to prevent burning. You may need a little more or less time depending on your oven.

  • Remove the pan from the oven and leave the kale chips on the pan for 3-5 minutes before serving.
